Both Keith and I didn't want to be with family on Christmas day so we figured we'd check out an asylum for the first time. We got to Waltham around 10am, but we couldn't find a decent place to park nearby. Eventually we parked in a spot that looked to be relatively nearby and headed towards what we thought was the hospital.
After a couple hours of struggling though the woods we eventually come out in a small graveyard. This made us think we were getting relatively close otherwise we were just in a graveyard in the middle of the woods. We walk walk up a hill at the back of the cemetary and we see a large brick building that looks to be the same one we saw from the road. It didn't make sence though, that there were no other buildings around and we were seeing old bring buildings for what seemed like acres when we were circling the block.
We looked around for an enterance but found nothing. I at the time assumed that the dorms I heard about having tunnels were the two sides of what turned out to be the Gaebler School. On the sides of the building there was sign saying the tunnels were blocked so we assumed we were in the right place. We decided we wern't equiped to go in so we headed back towards where we thought the car was.
We walked down a path for what seemed like forever until we got to a fence stating "No Tresspassing State Property" and another path turning away from it. Keith wanted to leave because it was getting dark but I wanted to go further to see what all of the buildings were.
After walking the grounds for a little while it became obvious that we were in the wrong spot for most of the day. As the sun was going down I took a few pictures of the buildings. We headed out with plans to return.
