Late in September I moved from North Attleboro, to Attleboro, Massachusetts. It may not seem like a big deal, but they are two very different towns. I went from living in a pristine, upper-middle class neighborhood where we could always leave our doors unlocked, to dealing with daily police presence and living in the same building with a convicted murderer.
Anyway; with a crappier neighborhood comes more abandonment. Down the road from me is the former Attleboro Train Station. A thin, two-story building that sits on the side of the road, wedged between the CSXT bridge and the MBTA/Amtrak lines.
Amtrak is pretty serious about security, but luckily CSXT isn’t. A short climb up a steep hill on the other side of the bridge brought us to the tracks that connected on the main line across the road.
The station has only one door on the first level, heavily secured. More windows sit on the second level, unfortunately the building is quite a popular eye sore, and sits within view of a busy intersection. Entry was out of the question.
However, we did have a pretty good time meandering about, and watching an MBTA train pass by.
