A few months ago Keti and I met a guy by the name of Nelson through Keti's mother. Keti's mom is a regional manager of a portait studio company, and had hired him to run a local studio. Now, our families have a way of mentioning our urban exploring hobby to everyone they know and meet. As it turned out Nelson thought it was pretty cool. And actually showed Keti a place we now call Candycorn State (despite it not actually being a state hospital). About a month later, Nelson Keti and I went back to "Candycorn State" to investigate further, and heres the story of that night.

Today Keti's family is all pretty tense because they are showing thier house to some possable buyers. For those of you that have no idea what Thats is like: showing it to people and making it spotlessly clean can be pretty stressful. Nelson is around because he's helping Keti's mom with the sale. After the people looking at the house are gone, I asked Nelson if he'd want to go exploring somewhere. We had plans to do this the next day, but it was pretty apparent we all wanted to get out of that house. We decide after a few minutes of debate on where to go, that we'd check out "Candycorn State". So we get in the car and head out.

Halfway there we decided to stop at a smaller place with no security, cameras, motion sesors, police, or alarms so we can warm up slightly and observe how Nelson acts in abandoned places. We make a slight detour and head towards Wrentham State Schools farm area. Luckily he was nothing like some of the other people we've taken; loud, disrespectful, and or stupid. After a half hour of exploring at a small "safe" place we get back on the road and head to Candycorn to enter under the cover of darkness.

As we approach the hospital we start looking for a place to park where we'd be able to walk up around the grounds to check everything out before we approach the building. The first drive by the hospital we dont see anything so we turn around and notice a small roughly paved path heading into the woods behind the hospital. Next we get out of the car we start heading in the direction of the campus. As we're walking we come upon a huge trail of hospital garbage, and appliances, and debis. At the end of the trail we come to hill overgrown in weeds and ferns. after a few feet of climbing the hill we notice that it is mostly comprised of more of the same debris we'd been folling too it just under a thick layer of foliage. Finally we get to the top and we're at the edge of a field of hospital trash. My guess is the way they disposed of stuff here was to "bury it out back". As we're leaving this area we notice a huge sign that used to be out in front of the hospital years ago.

As we're folling the path out of this area the thought sticking in my head most vividly is "This place is powered I hope theres no motion detectors". We knew this place was still powered because when Keti and Nelson were here before all the exit signs were lit up. Before I can think anything else about this place we're lookingat the main builing. After a quick look around we head to the enternce Keti and Nelson used before It's right out in the open, we all rush in making sure that it's shut behind us right after.

Immediatly I look around for anything that looks to be powered. At first i see a halway with alot of light shining down into it, but it looks like nautaral light. I think I hear a faint buzzing sound but I pass it off as my ears ringing because no one else hears it. So I assume at first that the building has been powered off completely. Now that we're safe we start checking out everything . We walk the hallways of the first floor examining every room and it's contents, or lack there of. Every so often we'd pass by an alarm system that Nelson read to be inactive.

Once we circled the entire ER area. We stop for a minute at the other end of the hallway connecting to the entrance we went in through to decide where to head next. Then all of a sudden we hear a car whip by. I know there has to be something wrong because the gates to this place are locked so people cant just drive in here even to turn around. A second later another car races by, then another. This has to be security or something even worse. We all dash down the hall heading away from the enternce we came in, the same one the cars were whipping by, the buzzing in my head is getting louder and it's not just in my head.

A situation that starts to look like this is pretty scary as you'd imagine. Now we're running around the whole place hoping we'd pass by a covered exit or a way to see them where they couldn't see us, because we sure as hell cant leave out an exit so open to view as the place we came in. As we're running everywhere left and right we pass by a control room. It's genrally a bad idea to stop and check something out when you know you're about to be joined by someone who's going to put you in cuffs if they catch you. I take a few second to read the indicator lights, which let us know exactly what is going on. When we came in we set off a fire alarm. The entrance we went in was an emergency fire exit!

These last few minutes at the same time seeming like forever have also seemed like seconds. We're Desperately looking for a way out of here without them seeing us because we dont know who they are, security or cops. As were running around we start seeing signs saying "security checkpoint" these signs are inside the building, WHAT THE FUCK!! I'm really worried that they patrol inside the building. Which would definately mean they aren't just going to wait outside for us to come out, they'll be comming in to find us. I'm starting to wonder what will happen if we get caught.

We stop at a fire door on the other side is a long sloping ramp leading up to ground level. This looks to be exactly what I know we were all praying to find, a place to get out where they wont be able to see us but we can see them if they come by. For a second we stall before opening the door. As rediculous as this will sound i think it was a natual reaction to thinking "if we leave here we'll set off the alarm.

They wont catch us if we run like hell into the woods once we're out. So we run, we run like hell, because we know we're going to get arrested if we dont get out now. We stop after getting far enough into the woods that they'd have to be looking right at us to see us. We get a little closer and hide in some brush to get a better look at exactly who had gotten us out of the building in such a rush. As it turned out we made the right descision to get out of there. We head back to the car and decide to drive to Foxboro State to show Nelson what are hobby is like on a normal trip.
