We Thought we'd Have to Swim5/2004

Molly And Starman in the Caf
The first Mourge We've ever seen
Asylum Toys
A Birdie in the Window

Early in the morning we met up with Starman and Miss Molly of Cereal Trespassers, and headed out to Foxboro. The only previous encounter I had with this place was in the backseat of a car, with my face pressed against the window looking at the builings in awe, like a 5 year-old driving past an amusent park. I had never seen so many abandoned buildings in one place before, and I must say that seeing the grounds of Foxboro State Hospital was probably when I realized that I wanted to explore (with the exception of Matt and Keith going to met state and Keith not allowing me to come along, but that's a different story entirely... jerk).

I got off track a bit - So In the company of Molly and Starman (who, by the way, are some of the most fun people I have ever met),Matt and I head off to Foxboro State Hospital. The previous night Starman had warned us that we'd be getting a little wet... and by a little I mean water up to our waist, at least. Matt and I prepared fully equipt with trash bags and duct tape (which Starman said never worked for him, but I was at least willing to try it out), Molly with an inner tube, and Starman with bathing trunks and a towel.

Upon entrance to the "flooded" tunnel, The Cereal Trespassers were surprised to see that all the water was gone - disapeared, not a trace left. I must say I was quite relieved to not have to trudge through that much water, however memorable the experience would have been!

Starman and Molly give us the lead, and we wander around for a while. There isn't much to say about each part specifically, a lot of it looked the same. In one room, however, the walls were covered in tags from intruders past. Some of them just left a name and year, others where they went and what they found. That was a very interesting thing to see, and one tag made mention of a bowling alley, which Starman was hyped to look for (we didn't end up finding it, by the way)

We also got to see the hospital's morgue. It was a first for Matt and I, and apprently Molly and Starman hadn't seen that particular morgue before either.

Overall it was an interesting trip; we got to meet Molly (who is very nice, and funny), see Foxboro (which is basically how I imagined it), and experience our first morgue (which wasn't nearly as creepy as I thought it'd be).
